This exhibition, "Home Grown -Our natural beauties within the landscape", focuses on native flowers as they appear in their natural environments. Scattered amongst dry bush or hidden in scrub, these blooms bring a quiet contrast to the landscape — vivid, gentle, and deeply rooted in memory.
My hope is that this collection offers a sense of peace. Each painting is an attempt to hold onto the stillness I’ve felt in these places — to slow things down and connect more deeply with the natural world. But it’s also about the personal memories flowers carry with them: the scent of a childhood garden, the feeling of a place visited long ago, or the simple act of noticing something beautiful on an ordinary day.
The exhibition will run from November 10 – 16 at 7 Clovelly Gallery, and will include a selection of new paintings that bring together colour, texture, and a sense of quiet observation. I’m looking forward to welcoming you into this world — one that’s layered with meaning, memory, and the calm presence of nature.
