A Celebration of Art, Food & Community

As I sit down to reflect on the Starving Artists events that are held at Woodburn Studio I realise how important these creative hubs are within the community. It was one of those nights that I really felt connected with a group of supporters who understood the journey of being a creative— an event where art, food, and community all came together in a way that felt genuine.

The event was a wonderful opportunity to not only showcase my work but to be part of a creative and inspiring gathering.

A Feast for the Senses

The food, crafted by chefs Leila Khazma and Stella Roditis, was just as memorable as the art. The Mediterranean-inspired spread was absolutely delicious, featuring dishes like labna with blood orange molasses, broccolini with nori dukkah, and perfectly cured kingfish. Every plate felt like a work of art in itself — vibrant, fresh, and full of life.

It was amazing how food and art were intertwined throughout the night. The relaxed pace allowed everyone time to enjoy each dish while chatting with fellow artists, collectors, and guests. It was the perfect setting for shared moments and new connections.

A Celebration of Community

What I loved most about the event was the sense of community it fostered. It wasn’t just about showcasing our work — it was about coming together as artists, sharing ideas, and appreciating each other’s creativity.

Being able to display my work alongside the other talented artists — Jenny Robinson, Edward Inchbold, Alice Palmer, and Olly Elhassadi — was truly humbling. There was something about seeing our pieces in the same space, surrounded by the collective energy of the day, that made the experience feel more intimate and meaningful.

The Lasting Impact

Reflecting on the Starving Artists event, I realize how much it reminded me of the importance of community and shared experiences. It wasn’t just about the art or the food, but the connections made and the feeling of togetherness that lingered long after.

As I write this, I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a special event. It’s moments like this that remind me why I create — to connect, to share, and to be part of something bigger than myself.
